Happy 2009 everyone! Where in the world did 2008 go?!
What better way to kick off the new year at The Todd Blog than with some random brain droppings?
- I’m a terrible a blogger. The amount of time that elapses between posts is unacceptable and I recognize that. One of my resolutions for this year is to create a little more consistency in both my personal and professional blogging. Now we’ll see if that resolution or my resolution to become a gourmet Vietnamese chef fades first.
- I started part two of the “Church of Christ is done for” series, but I’m not sure I know where to go with it now. Tied closely with my first point, if I say I’m going to continue a post, I’m going to work on delivering on that. My history in that department is deplorable.
- I took the Strengths Finder 2.0 test over the break and I’m pretty pleased and a little surprised by the results. According to the test, my five strength “themes” are Woo, Communication, Strategic, Adaptability and Activator. Woo stands for “winning others over,” and means that I’m gifted at networking and connecting with a lot of people. This can often be interpreted as being fake or shallow. But it’s not, I promise! Adaptability means I’m easy-going and don’t get stressed out when things get out of control or change unexpectedly. This can often be interpreted as a “don’t care” attitude, but it’s not, I promise! And finally, Activator means that I like to get things started and figure out how to proceed as I’m going. This can be interpreted as my being impatient and rash, but it’s not, I promise! - Nerdfession: Hayley and I started watching Battlestar Galactica per the urging of Erin and the Internet. And we’re hooked. It’s a little goofy and the dialog is often laughable, but the story is pretty engaging.

OK, I joined the nerd world as well.
I am not usually a Sci-Fi fan, but we got hooked as well. I really liked it. We just finished the last of the episodes. Since we can’t get the newest TV shows here in Peru, we are dependent on ITunes. They definitely made their money off of us for Battlestar. I hope you and Hayley enjoy it as much as we did.
Adaptability is my #1 and Communication is my #2. No wonder we get along.
