Dignity’s definitely overrated when you’re running against a Gen-Y-supported candidate I suppose.

Seriously, does anybody like this?

Is there anything she could do that would merit a positive response?

Its not the greatest thing ever, but I don’t hate it. (And I’ve hated most of her ads so far)

She could drop out…

I hate it because she used the word “shred”. And because she’s going after a demographic with which she is painfully out of touch, using tactics that highlight that reality rather than blur it.

Now that the writers are unstriked, she should enlist some of them to craft some humorous message for her.

I’ll admit that it has the too cute by half, faux-ironic whiff of the first scene of Juno. I think you’re right that they haven’t done a good job reaching out too young people (I seem to be in the odd one percent of young consultants who are on her side), but I’m not sure there was ever very much she could do about it. Most young people don’t have serious political opinions, so the candidate who gives off that impression would seem to be the logical destination for them.

“Dude! I’m like totally gonna vote for that chick! She can shred!” Come on! “Look, here you young’uns! I got some cool music and a fake story to get your attention. Now vote for me!” Smart, but I feel sorry for those who buy into it. Let’s get educated on all the candidates before we vote, please.

I don’t mind it at all. Like is a strong word.

I thought it did a good job of making you think and then giving you a message at the end and sending you to the site.

Not being the target makes my opinion worthless but that ad probably would have sent me at least to look at her web site. I don’t think it would help gain support but it would make me curious to find out more and who knows….

But again I’m not the target of the ad. I’m not even sure what letter I get for my generation.

I think this is beyond stupid but then again, I’ve got a crush on Obama.
