Awesome news

MacGyver!Friends I have some AMAZING news:

CBS is showing MacGyver season one for free!

They also have Star Trek the orignal series, The Twilight Zone, Hawaii Five-0 and my other favorite, Melrose Place. (Didn’t Melrose originally air on Fox? Or am I way off? I may be way off. What was the show that featured the hit song “How Do you Talk to an Angel?” That show was on Fox. I think.)

Enjoy!

The Story

The StorySean Meade, my good buddy, has a ministry, Stuck in the Middle (careful, the site is noisy), that meets the needs of middle schoolers; a difficult, yet critical age group.

Stuck is hosting an event in Kansas City March 7-9. The theme this year is “The Story” and it’s shaping up to be quite an affair. Worship by Josh Weaver. Drama by the Skitiots. Breakout sessions with some amazing speakers and yours truly.

This is an event you don’t want to miss. Seriously. So register your group today as space is limited.

Any questions? Shoot Sean an email at info at stuckinthemiddle.com or call him at 800.497.3917.

Can’t wait to see you there.

Check out the story here.

Easy World Change

NestorAbout a year ago, I helped rescue Nestor Arley Quinchia Valencia, a six-year-old child from Colombia.

I got connected with Nestor after a Shaun Groves concert. I thought it would be a good idea to have my protégé, RJ, and I sponsor a Compassion child together. Unfortunately, I haven’t been very diligent in including RJ, so the sponsorship has pretty much become my own.

Nestor and I have written twice. He isn’t old enough to write the letters himself, but he dictates them to a translator. Each time, he concludes by sending me and my family “love and hugs.” Oh, and he always includes a hand-drawn picture.

Nestor is a precious child; a precious child who has been rescued from the poverty in which many of his friends and family live. And I have a hand in that.

I know, I know, we’re not supposed to brag about the good things that we do. I’m not sharing my rescuing-story to brag, but merely to highlight a simple fact: I, Todd Ramsey, a high-powered (in my own mind) advertising account executive in Wichita, Kan., have helped rescue a child I’ve never met in a country which I have never visited.

And it’s easy.

I signed a form, gave my credit card information (allowing Compassion to deduct $32 a month) and I was done. Aside from writing two letters, I have done nothing else to rescue a small child in need.

How awesome is that?

I don’t know what your monthly finances look like. I don’t know how easily you can carve out a $32-a-month donation, but I encourage you to explore the possibility. It is the easiest way to make a profound, global difference.

Sign up today.

Already a sponsor? Head over to Shaun’s blog and tell YOUR story.

P.S. If you do sign up online, can you please include my name in the referral box? I’m an advocate for Compassion and they need to keep track of referrals to ensure that they’re being good stewards.

Pun Friday

His new job provided a huge celeryThe assumption that puns are per se contemptible betrayed by the habit of describing every pun not as a pun, but as a bad pun or a feeble pun, is a sign at once of sheepish docility and desire to seem superior. Puns are good, bad, and indifferent, and only those who lack the wit to make them are unaware of the fact. – H. W. Fowler (Modern English Usage)

I think it’s time for some levity around here. While that Clinton ad is certainly groan-inducing, let’s up the ante here at the ToddBlog. Bring me the funniest – i.e. groan-tasticist – puns you can find. Winner receives a special prize.

To get us started:
What do you call a chicken crossing the road?
Poultry in motion.

Think you can beat that? I hope so.
Happy Friday.

P.S. I apologize to all my non-Spring-Sing-Host readers – groan-inducing may come a little less naturally to you.
