As someone who took his fair share of delight in ridiculing the show and its supporters (and, lets be honest, from the point of view of just watching the commercials it can look rather ridiculous), I must say one thing; wow was I wrong. The show is great. I tend to have a different take on the characters than most I've talked to (I hate Jack soooo much), but few shows have the potential for as much interesting conversation as this does. So to any who have felt the sharpened ends of my Lost-related arrows, I apologize. Concerning last night's episode, I would say that it was a strong to quite strong way to start the year. It seems like a central recurring theme of the rest of the show's run is going to be the collapse of Jack as a heroic figure (something I would welcome). I'm so used to watching these at my leisure that I'm not sure how I'm going to manage the week between episodes. All I ask for is more Desmond and more Ben in the weeks ahead. (Loved season 2 also by the way). What I thought was interesting is the flash-forward seemed to be sequencially earlier than the flash-forward that ended last season. And what of Hugo seeing Jacob?
